Skull Music

His headphones hold his skull in place.
He is not listening to anything
when I wonder: what is he listening to?
I envy his internal film crew:
his reality raised above ours.
We are his cameras. And heels,
hollers, yipping pushbikes,
awnings in a flap: this is soundtrack enough.
His ears grow warm as we think of him.
