A Poem About the Moon

Glowing and gleaming,
shining and streaming;
like a lighthouse in the wake of a storm,
a welcome haven for the tired and ragged.
Sleep, my dear, and drink in her wealthy rays.
Let her thin your blood and coddle your head
as she fills it with fantastical images
of a world on above.
She'll tease you and she'll taunt you
with her mystery and her charm.
She'll vex you and she'll irk you,
but she is ubiquitous.
You cannot escape her touch:
she will always be there to guide you home.
So look to her for help
as a grand beacon in the night sky
and let her soothe your troubled mind
with her natural, untainted power and
overwhelming forces of peace.

I agree with Alvin,
I agree with Alvin,
I'm a Cancerian and ruled by the moon...your poem touched me deeply.
A treasure indeed.
Jenny.
