Hysterical Trees

A bit of wind
and the trees are waving boughs
like little girls
screaming at a spider or a
dessicated dead mouse
teenagers hearing creaking steps
after a seance
or the planchette moving on the Ouija
when the parents are out

"Its a tornado,it will knock us down
take our leaves
We will end up on the garage roof"

The green woodpecker
with its red cap
goes about its business
whipping up worms

like a tramp pushing
a trolley
unimpressed
