confined to rooms
but not appartements at Versaille
just a dinner here
a lunch there
a hotel sometimes

There are no boxes of jewels
to be worn at a Masque
but precious little thoughts
given and treasured
still

When she was alive
she was all movement
a ballet of love
conversation a costume
of the finest lace
wit worn lightly

Now it is you who move
