Zuprising suprises

My best friend and I were at my locker talking about the test in
history we had yesterday.
"I sooo failed" My best friend Melissa said.
"Don't worry you've never failed anything and you did tell me you
studied"
I said as I pulled out my Science note book.
"HELLO earth to JADE" my friend moaned
"I know it just wait till the results"
I laughed and turned around and that's when I saw him.
He had just walked out of the boy's bathroom.
He was tall, with jet black hair, and even though he was quite far
away. I could see his glistening blue eyes.
I must have stood there for a long time because Melissa suddenly
shouted "ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME."
I woke up from my trance and watched as HE walked past me. Leaving a
beautiful smell of his cologne.

"Do you know who he is?" I asked my friend
"Who? Him? Yeah he's new. I saw him this morning in the parking lot.
He's gorgeous isn't he?" My friend said staring at his back with
me.
"Do you know his name?" I asked eagerly!
"Umm what was it? I heard one of the guys call him. Uhh YES he's name
is Jason"
She said
I turned and then pretended I wasn't interested.
But then my friend said something that wanted me to jump rite
there.
"He's going to that party Barry Thompson is having"
I couldn't wait to that Saturday where I and my best friend would be
seeing him. Because as I found out he wasn't in ANY of my
classes.

Saturday came and I was ready, I got to the party with Melissa.
I walked in and the first thing I saw was Jason. He stood out from the
crowd.
He was wearing a tight black t-shirt and Jeans.
I and Melissa stared for a minute and then we decided to talk to
him.

I put on my best smile and walked with Melissa and walked over to the
most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
"Hi, my names Jade and this is my friend Melissa"
I said as I looked from me to Melissa. She was also beaming with a HUGE
smile.

"Hey, wassup you 2?" were his first words and I loved his husky
voice.
"Oh nuttin much just hanging" Melissa said still smiling.

The small chit chat carried on for about half an hour until I felt as
though my heart had been trampled on.
Jason suddenly turned to Melissa and asked if she wanted to
dance.

She said yes almost immediately not noticing the hurt in my eyes.

I watched them dance on the floor dancing to a slow song.
Melissa and I had sworn that a guy would never ever come between
us.
We promised that no matter how sweet, gorgeous, kind, and we both liked
him, that we would not let him come between us.
But I just kept looking at them. I felt angry that they looked so
perfect for each other.

I know that I am pretty but I can't compare with Melissa's long blonde
hair, blue eyes and really good tan.
As for me, I am a normal brunette with normal brown eyes and sort of
pale.
I must have looked like such an idiot standing there staring because
all of a sudden I felt a tap on the shoulder, I turned around suddenly
knocking the person who tapped me drink.
"Oh gosh I am so sorry, I wasn't looking" I said looking at the shirt
that had cola all over it. I finally looked up to the face.
"Hey Jade, its ok. Accidents happen" He said.
"Oh hey Jamie!" I said surprised.
Jamie has been my longest friend, even longer than Melissa. He isn't as
close as me and Melissa though.
"What are you doing here?" I asked
"Well, I am Barry's best friend" He chuckled
"Oh yes, I guess I am not awake tonight." I laughed.
Jamie was wearing beige baggy pants, and a black baggy t-shirt.
He was known for his bagginess.
"Hey do you want to have a friendly dance?" Jamie asked
I looked at him for a moment and thought that I might as well.
At least I will be having a little fun.
"Yeah sure Jamie." I said smiling my friendliest smile.
When we were on the dance floor, I was surprised at how wonderful Jamie
danced.
And I felt glad that I had him as a friend.
As the song finished, I heard my name being called out.
It was Melissa. "Hey Jade, ummm, Jason offered me a ride home so you
don't have to ok?" She said, not noticing that I had tears in my
eyes.
"Umm, yeah sure, that's ok." I said trying to act normal.
And with that she turned around and ran back to Jason.
"It must feel like crap huh?" Jamie said, with concern in his
voice.
"What do you mean?" I said, was I that obvious?
"You know, Melissa and Jason. I saw the tears Jade and remember I was
there when you guys promised that NO guy was going to come between you
guys." He said. It was true; he was there when Melissa and I
promised.
"Oh well, I can't do anything anyway" I said, with my head down.
Jamie then hugged me, and to me it must have been the best hug I hade
ever got.
I felt comforted from his hug. "Hey! Want me to take you home?" He
asked as he used his finger to lift my chin.
"Yeah thanx, I'll pick up my car tomorrow morning." I said smiling
gratefully.
Jamie smiled and then with a huge grin said "Well we are here now, so
let's get you a drink."
He then took my hand and led me to the kitchen.
He opened the huge fridge and pulled out 2 sodas.
He gave me 1 and I thanked him.
It had been so long since I had chatted to him and I kinda felt guilty.
He was always there for me in the past and I had totally forgotten
about it.
"So Jade, tell me, how's your love life?" He asked. I laughed rite on
the spot. "I think you know exactly from what happened on the dance
floor." I said.
"Oh yeah, I guess I see what you mean." He said rather seriously.
"How is Catherine?" I asked Catherine was Jamie's girlfriend.
"Oh, we split up, cuz we both thought it was best." He said sadly
"I'm sorry Jamie" I said and put a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah well, that's life for you." He sighed.
We chatted a bit longer about school and family and then we decided to
go home. We went outside and walked to his dads BMW.
He opened the door for me, and then got in himself. On the way home, we
chatted a bit longer but as we drew up to my house, we became
silence.
"Well, thanx a lot for the ride home Jamie" I said smiling at him.
"Hey, any time Jade. I am always here" He said with a wink.
As I opened the car door Jamie grabbed my hand and pulled me towards
him.
I was in his arms and our faces were so close that any inch closer our
lips would be touching.
"Don't I get a goodnight kiss?" He asked softly, and then he moved his
lips closer to me and gave me the softest, sweetest kiss ever.
I felt as if I had just melted into his arms and I felt a little
disappointed when he let me go. "Now that's the kind of goodbye I was
talking about." He said grinning from ear to ear.
I smiled back and with that he lent in closer again and wrapped his
arms around me tighter.
He paused a bit by looking into my eyes. "You have no idea how long
I've wanted to do this!" He said and before I could say anything we
were kissing again but much more passionately this time.
When we finally ended the kiss, I had to catch my breath.
I smiled at him, kissed him good night and got out the car. And as I
was walking up the driveway he shouted from the car, "I'll call
you!"
I laughed, then waved as he drove away.
I had totally forgotten about Melissa and Jason but I didn't
care.
I had my own happy love life to deal with.
