Venus

Venus...
Early morning luminary,
big and bright and beautiful.
Venus...
Taunts me with her dazzling rays.
No star distracts from her lovliness.
A diamond against deep blue.
Sleepy skies bereft of contenders
for the admiration of the dawn chorus.
Venus...
Goddess of love,
dressed in white,
beaming, self assured,
no contest.
Venus...
Stark reminder of what was lost.

I have a marvellous view of Venus from my garden, right now, cassie (when it gets dark, of course, that is)
Lovely poem, and especially admired, 'Sleepy skies bereft of contenders'. Certainly nothing shines as brightly in the sky, not at this particular time of year, at least.
Very much enjoyed.

You draw a lovely picture of
You draw a lovely picture of the star's loveliness, in its surroundings. Everthing lovely reminds you of such a sense of loss right now? Maybe you'll see the 'other side of the tapestry' one day, whether after retrieval of loss, or other developments, but there is only One who can really give comfort and direction. Rhiannon
