Little Flutterby....

What wonders may befall a new winged butterfly at dawn?
When into nature’s glory it will flutter by at morn
Between the gentle blossoms and the grasses growing tall
What wonders may it witness in springs grandest skytopped hall?
Above the many new sprung blooms, upon a breeze it flies
Just gliding ‘tween the crocuses, beneath white clouded skies
It settles here, it settles there on gently swaying fronds
Reflected in the greenish hues of lively bustling ponds
Winged beauty, like a breath imbibed with rainbows many shades
So elegant it travels through the vast and flowered glades
A jewel in the moment when the earth is born anew
As delicate as every drop of early morning dew
What wonders may befall a new and glorious butterfly?
When free to roam the endless fields beneath the bluest sky
When all is bright and full of life, each new and carefree day
What wonders may it flutter past upon its merry way
