I can’t see you or touch you
Or hold you and tell you everything will be ok
I can’t be there just to be there
Just because you need me

Or ease you
Or just sit beside you in silence and wait.

I feel so helpless
So far away.

If I could.
If I were able
I would fly to your side right now.
Even if it meant I could only be with you for a minute.
I would.
Just to kiss you.
Tell you I love you.
Tell you I’m here, even when I’m not.

Distance hurts.
But love can bridge anything.
