Those Eyes

Embers of twilight dance in those eyes,
Like the laughter of angels that fell from the skies,
I watch them unable to fathom their depths,
Just content that into their beauty I'm swept.
An old soul you have, quiet and wise,
Hidden in youth, but I see in those eyes,
Just 'neath the rivers of heavenly blue,
Old as the oceans it shines within you.
Real can you be? For too perfect you are,
Don't ever leave or wander too far,
And never be sad or feel any pain,
Ne'er have those eyes shimmer with rain.
What I would suffer to save you from tears
Or to free you from heartache the rest of your years,
Only seeing the light of pure joy in those eyes
Deep as the oceans blue as the skies.
