Land lubber

Only the sea contains the sea
Laws of sensation
Balance on moon beams
Light burning in the turn
Roll and crest and crown
Crop of water healing below
Love, life, dearth – flux
Spread of splendour
Help of hell with no handbook
Ocean’s calm
Just wait
Tomorrow has no claim
Flung asunder
Second-by-second frame
Leaves wife and child
On dry land
Tears roll in.

Beautiful ending. The whole
Beautiful ending. The whole thing has a rolling feel like tides.

Hi CM
Hi CM
I really like this poem. "Laws of sensation balance on moon beams" that's so beautiful and original.

I love the first line of this
I love the first line of this. It's like a huge great truth. I can hear a preacher screaming it, or the queen declaring it, and if that's true, what else only contains what it says on the tin? The coffee jar only contains coffe, that's so profound. But then think about an empty Roses tin, that can contain all kinds of shit... I've spoken to Nemo, he contests your philosophising.
Another great poem, you're getting good at this, old son. But don't leave us for the dark side, we need your prose to the bitter end.
