All is grace
All is despair
When you are not there
When you are there
For god’s sake
For our sake
Where is he?
Where he is
I hear a voice
I hold a voice
We lament the last day
We lament the lost day
All belong to him
He belongs to us
Without love or mercy
Without mercy or love
All is ashes
All is ashes.

I like the parallel lost/last
I like the parallel lost/last.
If we can't 'feel' him, we can hold on to the historical facts of the resurrection and the call to anyone/everyone to 'come', with empty hands, but a reverent heart.
(and if we can't do that, we can always pray, 'If you're there make yourself real to me somehow'. As long as we mean it!) Rhiannon
