Afraid

Afraid everything could go right,
uncertain on things being brought
a-light.
Shaken by a feeling of ecstasy,
yet timid and shy to stop seeing
your memory.
Held aback by this wonderful Goddess,
although we met a mere moment
at best.
Alive for the first time in my life,
your beauty and laughter pierces
like a knife.
Strong enough to respect all that you do,
I am happy to have at last met someone
like you.
Humbled before you and with absolute trust,
I can only be myself, so should you
a promise that will never rust.
Still within my heart a place will remain,
My friendship will persevere always
in sun and rain.
Marked within the sands and imprinted in stone,
When I am with someone like you
I am never alone.
