Marcus dragged himself towards the cover as his former soldiers closed in with nothing but murderous intent followed each of their movements. Calculating his options while unable to command the souls within him he readied his weapon in the palm of the only functional arm he had left. Grasping tightly at the ready to strike when his sensors picked up a vulnerability point of the soldiers closing in on his position. Marcus memory filter was going haywire as emotions and images flooded the media retina which soon gave way past the curtain of the reality around him. All that he could sense was the stench of death clouding the area in a fog of exhaust from the industrial complex's surrounding the location. Witnessing non-humanoid civillians being executed en mass with their remains interred to the machines while cries of aunguish pierced his ears. Manufacturing artificial humanoid bodies which struck him in absolute terror. Humanity's secret to immorality was revealed before him filling the pit of gis stomache with a grotesque sensation of diagust. Realozing that this artificial body as well was composed of the same innocent lives he was now powerless to protect. Marcus oath of Law now lay broken as equally as his physical form had now become from the assaults of his former soldiers having served at their side through so many wars.
"Dammit.." he exclaimed silently as the hydraulics in his remaining functional arm began to bleed profusely.
If he did not act soon his primary core system would enter a state of hibernation rending him incapable of fighting his way out from this hell. Then, something was moving inthe darkened room as he peered out from the safety of his position. Marcus tried to get a visual however his retinal implant could only read the environment to a limited degree. There was something there. Something in the darkness that seemed to warp the shadows around it preventing it from being seen by the naked eye or advanced retinal scanners. As the soldiers closed in one of their members was pulled through the walls with no sound permeating the quite of the room. Each soldier turned quickly searching for the missing member of the platoon but before they could react another member was just as quickly dispatched. Cut clean in half by a moving darkness causing the remaining soldiers to panic firing blindly in every direction their sensors could detect. One of the soldiers fled as fear overcame him but before he could leave the area another soldier shot him dead by the time he reached the end of the hallway. Darkness envoloped the soldier who executed the fleeing soldier as it rumbled of what Marcus thought was deep seated anger. His arm was bitten off at the elbow taking the weapon away with it and before he could scream the darkness filled the open mouth stretched out to the point the ectoflesh ripped at the corners. Insects of an unknown origin poured out of the eyes as hus physical form was reduced to nothing but spare augmented parts. Since the commanding officer was eliminated the rest of the soldiers fell back not even caring to look back at the horror that attacked them with animalistic visciousness.
Once the soldiers were gone the darkness swirled before Marcus taking a form almost human. Through the static yellow lighting of the room he saw something he had never encountered before in all his service to the Meticullum-Human collective. A figure that held a bloodied scalpel which cleaned itself of the gore by absorbing into itself. It's face was beyond an exact comprehension at the jaw line while his eyes and skin seemed transparent in nature; yet revealed no internal organs or augmented enhancements. It stepped forward giving way to the attire he wore. A simple worn greyish bomber jacket and jeans. However it appeared as if the attire itself was composed as the same material; as if his clothes were his skin itself.
"Hello, friend." Came a gloomy echo of many voices from the formless thing inhabiting the lower part of his face.
"Now that you have eyes that see, there is so much more to be revealed."
Darkness encircled the augmented parts which appeared instantly in his hand. His scalpel changed to a circuity device manipulating the very essence of the metal. His face began to take the form of numerous smiles jutting out rows of greyish fangs and molars.
"First, I see you have been severely wounded. Thanks to a...generous donation by your former friend here I'll patch you up in no time. Perhaps a few added tweaks since I feel a bit creative." It spoke as the wretched mouths snickered in delight.
Marcus primary core began to shut down as the media retinal began to flicker into a deep hibernation mode cutting his communication to the network. He did not know what this thing was; but what scared him most is what he would see now that there were no filters keeping his mind from ripping itself apart.

Some very interesting ideas,
Some very interesting ideas, but with extracts from non-consecutive chapters, it's a bit difficult to gauge how the story is developing. At the moment I feel it's a bit exposition heavy, but that may be just because of the extracts we have here.
