Levity

We meet once more at the apex of suffering,
My wry appearance gives away the impending,
A jab into the heart of self deprivation,
Sweeter still are you'r tear stained cheeks,
Rather than the timid expression that peeks,
In the light of my nonchalance eye,
Awaiting and abating for a final alleviation,
Of the pain you so generously dragged,
To this displaced and humorous thing,
Receded is the face of sorrow thinning,
Frustration at the insensitivity I bring,
In return equally measured my levity,
Pompous as an imp rocking steadily,
Teeth are barred as the morsel is consumed
hungrily,
My quips rain down upon the charred remains,
Of you'r broken down kingdom of frowns,
To that I toast the wine of trivialities,
As each regret is another jewel in my crown,
What you deemed as unwanted I take graciously,
Leaving you one less ounce of tragedy,
For if I can replace that which hurts you,
In favor of a euphoria of tense and release,
Then my heart will finally have it's peace.
