We see it every day. We see it in the media, in our jobs, our personal lives, we sometimes even see it in ourselves. A growing indifference collectively shared through humanity as a whole where everything seems the same old same old. Our technology has advanced so much where personal relationships are no longer relevant and our sense empathy becomes more dull with each passive exposure to some of the worst acts we have witnessed in history. How we all have become so connected on an information super highway yet despite this we find new, inventive ways of distancing ourselves. Am I against such advancements? No, I dare to ask what if we took it a step too far. What if humanity advanced the social media onto a more quantum perspective where information can be stored, implanted, or distorted in any form of reality. Where the ages old enemies of mankind such as mortality, morality, and wealth were no longer of any consequence. A collective reality that intigrates the greatest wonders and horrors ever created within the twisted confines of of psyche. An existence devoid of purpose or reason where anyone can create and live together under a system where consciousness is a currency that holds limitless value to the ones who possess the technology to condition them in their image.
This is the multiverse of Schism. A vast seemingly immeasurable expanse being overran by humanity and their overseers which hold unlimited power over life and death itself; yet humanity finds themselves locked away in an artificial fantasy where there is no intrinsic sense of good or evil. To each their own so long as you obey the performance you are odered to perform without question. Only pain and pleasure remains as humanitys ultimatum leaving it unchecked and easily inflicted on other sentient beings without any semblence of the effects it has on them. An existence dominated by the Quantum Media's eternal eyes where every action played is nothing more than an act in a neverending play. With each universe or dimension infected faces inevitble extinction and there are no heroes left to save them or themselves for that matter. So it was that the Schism was formed wanting only to consume and control all of reality for reasons left murky at best by the orders of our overseers. Our saviors who gave us life eternal at the price of realities we should have never crossed into in the first place. Spiraling down a course of self-destruction while the breaks have already been cut.
These dark, shattered realms serve as the stage from which this story is told from the perspectives of three individuals whose connections change the very fabric of existence itself as their road continues on. Each character holding a close but distant connection to one another where the decisions they make will determine weather or not existence will remain or be destroyed without contest. Their names are 13, Marcus, and Janice. This is their story of how humanity became monsters, and how monsters learned what it meant to be human. Either willfully or by terrifying forces beyond science or the imagination.
