Reserving what little of humanity I have salvaged,
From endless broken relationships leaving me ravaged,
Opening the passage cut off from the rest of the world,
To someone who is deemed worthy of healing the wounds of old,
Dutifully loving and patient with this new chapter,
Ever so enamoured with the dilusion of the ever after,
Being mindful of the mistakes taken in a frail sense of hope,
You are never really there only awaiting to drop this joke,
Of this weak willed being who dared to trust fully despite the signs,
Each day passes by withdrawing the love from those haunting eyes,
As Autumn gives way to the winters deeply biting cold,
It uses me for their own temporary amusement as their conscience remains untold,
Cast away with no foundation within my home most sacred,
It dissapears in silence as my repeated sin leaves me naked,
No matter the efforts I make they will always find fault,
So I close the passage again and add more locks to that vault,
No peace to be found in their ethereal arms which I always pass through,
For all my self inflicted isolation never overcomes the pain caused by you.
