Open the Door

Open the door,
Tread lightly upon the floor,
Do not forget the angled nails,
Pounded deeply into the crest,
Answers you seek will you avail,
Searching for my humanity you will fail.
Open the door,
Grasp the emerald handle gently,
Peer through the ageless winding cracks,
Carved so delicate in deepest weeping,
Behold the realm of questionable dark.
Close the door,
Press your hands against the rotted wood,
Eyes wide open through resplendent revelation,
Reborn anew with knowledge now understood,
Peering inside this soul have you found peace,
Or perhaps the urge to open another door?
