Silence

As I kneel before this sacred ground,
the sound of nothing ever abounds.
"I got you your favorite." I whisper and my eyes close,
One blood red the rest of reflective yellow rose.
"Time heals all wounds, but ours never did."
My mind begins to play back of what we had, our house and kids.
Illusions of course since she married another,
"In this life or the next, to me you will forever be a my friend and lover."
Walking away from the Ferryman's payment,
I am plauged by the darkness so rampant.
Collapsing under the weight of my pennence,
"Although I have paid my respects, I am forever reminded by your silence."
