14) The Brain Storming
They all sat now in the Communication Room. Miniator had suggested they needed to get together for a brain storming session. He also wanted to show the film footage he had shot from the other side of the base.
What they saw on the film was a large unfinished metal building, obviously the slaughter house. Next to this were lines of the traps still housing the captured dinosaurs. Obviously the creature's were being kept alive while the slaughterhouse was still in progress.
The computer asked Narea, if, with her photographic memory, she could draw a plan of the Mearian, spaceship. So they could see what was where. 'That would be no problem,' Narea replied. Maria then gave.a detailed breakdown of the duties and where and how the Koosians were employed.
The computer was also interested to know more about the onboard computer, such as where and by whom was the computer code and the command protocol held. And what was its functions.
Narea explained, that before the ship had been captured, the Captain and the Number Two, Trid Das, both had copies, and these are held in their secret electronic safes in their quarters. The computer takes commands from both code holders, who also have encrypted passwords. The computer as overall control over the Robot Troop, but the robots also have a measure of autonomy independence; they can identify, all the personal onboard by an electronic implant under the skin. Nerea showed them her inner forearm. And that is why they had to be locked down, as they would arrest anyone without the implant.
'How many are there in this band of freebooters?' asked Swing.'
'Including Luden Lodo, there is fifty three of them, I counted them!' replied Narea.
Miniator said they should take their time thinking about all the possibilities before making any plans. But he liked Narea's idea of sabotage. But he believed it wouldn't be to their advantage for the Koosians to know of their presence yet. We don't want to scare them so much that, they take-off with the ship, or shift to another Time Zone. The purpose of our actions should be to retake possession of the ship... we don't want the Koosians to get loose and cause havoc for others with this kind of potential. It would be good if they thought, any action we make is the work of Narea alone. And they should 3D-print another Atom Mixer for Narea, so she can disarm any laser weapons she comes up against.
Miniator then asked for ideas of what acts of sabotage could they achieve without giving away their presence.
'Well,' said Narea, 'I had thought about stealing one of the Jiks... I'm sure I could sneak in there at night and fly one out. Or I could simply sabotage some of them...
'How would you do that,' asked Swing, 'by taking out a part of the mechanism?'
'No, they have 3D-printers onboard the Hool, they would simply print a new part. No, I would simply hack into the Jik's onboard computer and implant a virus, which would stop it from taking-off, and if they tried to communicate with another craft with that computer, that craft would also have the same problem, because the virus would spread. It would take them quite some time to sort the problem out.'
'So,' said Miniator, 'we could do both those things. I'm sure if we had a Jik, we could cause some havoc with the traps, I would also like to do something about those poor captured creatures...'
'Because your colleagues seem to do all the repairs on these craft, would it be possible to leave them messages within the mechanisms, without the Koosians becoming aware of them?' asked the computer.
'Oh yes, that is a great idea! I could do that easily. The engineers check the engines everyday before take-off. I could try to get a message to the Captain or the Number Two.
'Did the koosians also take the computer codes from the Number Two when they boarded the ship?' asked the computer.
'I'm not sure if they knew the Number Two also had the code or not... but if not that means he may still have it in his quarters, and he himself nor the Koosians would think it is useful, because he has no access to the bridge, and the Koosians have probably created their own passwords.
'I think before we take any other action, we should first think about trying to make contact with the Number Two to get that code and command protocol if he still has it.' said Miniator.
