Ain’t it all a joke

(Performance Poem)
Inside departments
In smaller compartments
Without expectations
Limited imaginations
Ain’t it all a joke
Ain’t it all a joke
Outside society
Or crushed in normality
Without significance
Not even a dissident
Ain’t it all a joke
Ain’t it all a joke
They want to turn you around
They want to close you down
Because you are just a problem
If you are not like them
Sent in directions
Distorting perceptions
Blind to all elegance
The rape of intelligence
Ain’t it all a joke
Ain’t it all a joke
Dreams and ambition
Reduced to submission
I’m talking essential
Human potential
A sick kind of joke
A sick kind of joke
