A MOMENT ON A BALCONY
Who chooses what?
Do we fold up our life and put it in our pocket, and walk away?
Only later, after being made to empty our pockets, on demand,
you find what you thought you had, is not there!
And what is there, is,
to all the eyes, yours included, that shine with expectancy,
incriminating! ' fingering!
You can argue -- scream 'framed!'
'Do you deny that what is there looks familiar to you?
'It's a jungle out there!'
'But it's not our jungle Jim'
More exotic than exotic.
More alien than Alien.
I lay back in my parachute and wait to land in my easy-chair
ever the optimist
ever the observer
yet, ever changing.
