One day the room you are in will be here
And you will not. 
The tidying you have not done will remain, 
A reminder that no-one dies with a completed to-do list.
 
The cup you last drank from will need washing.
The leftovers in your fridge will be uneaten.
The clothes you are wearing will be washed to clothe someone else.
Or will burn or rot.
 
Your aches will be gone. 
Your muscles will no longer brace and flex with movement.
Your flesh will no longer pulse with warm blood. 
Your lungs will not inflate, and your heart will not beat.
 
Your atoms will remain, whatever they become. 
They will dance in sunbeams, form rock or water or food for a worm.
While you live on in the creations and memories you leave behind.
Your legacy starts now.

This incredibly thoughtful piece describes exactly what I went, and still go, though. When I read this I felt that undescribable emotional feeling you get when something really "gets" you.
