I lived in pain for so long
The bitter tears of doubt was all I knew
It was not you I needed to forgive
For I punished Myself every footstep of the way
The bitterness swells
The hatred never quite goes away
And I turn in my sleep
A restless soul
My mind forever regretful
My soul a tainted vessel
Have I finally let go of the love I thought I knew
Or are they just echos of a passion spent
For I must forgive myself
For my mistakes
For my faith in a love undone
And finally rid myself of these shadows in my mind.........
