The Exploration Of Love

The first was the classic anti-male archetype,
Only perpetuating all that silly misandrist hype.
He left me abused, with shattered trust once again,
Making me forget who I have always been.
Though I was only as blind as I chose to be,
Simply wanting to be obliviously happy.
Which didn't last long, as it never does.
But after a week, naiveté gone, I was moving on.
Then came the nice guy, so I declined,
It was his mistake to try to make his heart mine.
Because we all need to get it broken someday
And It was my job to supply that inevitable heartbreak.
We were the perfect match on paper,
However, he was a romantic shift-shaper,
Becoming the person he thought I'd care about
Really just making him apart of everyone else
Life is full of the lessons we need to learn,
Combined with longings in which we yearn.
Love is a nonsensical concoction of these,
Making us laugh and then painfully fall to our knees.
If it were easy, we wouldn't want it.
An example of human nature at it's finest.
Just don't forget who you are in your exploration,
Because attraction has no explanation.
