Pig Monkeys

A wandering through a wood was I
When two Pig Monkeys a-plotting did I espy
With big hairy snouts that covered their face
Made this little wood such a scary place
I hid in the bush for a little while
And watched as they whispered with evil smiles
Curious and nosey I moved towards them
Hiding and sneaking from tree root to stem
Like a toy soldier in a bedroom war
I positioned myself on the wooded floor
I listened to the Pig Monkeys talk
Plotting bad things in the strangest squawk
Of how they would capture the mucky pup
And use a strong rope to tie me tight up
They'd torture and tickle and baste me in goo
And mix me with stock for a puppy stew
Upon hearing such woe I backed out of sight
But they heard me and chased me as I took to flight
Crashing through branches of trees oh so tall
Not looking back, not daring to fall
Breathless with fear and of jumping the gorse
Feeling the strain in my poor puppy paws
All of the while the Pig Monkeys gave chase
Yelping and yalping and winning this race
Just when my hope seemed as lost as could be
Out of the wood I tripped, over a tree
Onto a highway, at roadside lay I
Watching the trucks and the cars whizzing by
When from out of the woods with bad things planned indeed
The two Pig Monkeys came, crashing through at such speed
With nought on their mind but a puppy called Muck
They carried straight on, to the path of a truck
With a yelp and a yalp and a big funny splatt
I cheered as the truck turned the Pig Monkeys flat
And though it seems cruel that the Monkeys did die
It saved me from stew, so I'll say my goodbye!!
So if ever you see a Pig Monkey or two
Stay near a road and thus safe will be you.
