Here Comes The Sun
But where are the people?
No one’s around!
In the garden?
Up the stairs?
Even the cat’s gone out.
Our Labrador is in the shade,
Our little new dog is actually sunbathing,
Just like the cats he pretends to hate.
The humans are all sleeping,
Later and later,
Like there is a magical spell on all the land.
Clouds have been banished,
And peace reigns across the whole country.
The nasty virus has been beaten for now (we hope?),
And everyone’s getting lazy,
At the supermarket,
In the park.
Going to meet their long lost parents and grandparents,
In the garden,
After the weekend.
