Online dating? Me? Too right ..

I arrived at the outside of my theatre at 11am as we had arranged. Apparently, Highland Andy had been the site manager in the 90's when the place was reconstructed. It seemed fitting to meet there somehow. The guy was travelling from Inverness to see me! Blimy ..
What we had decided was ..
1 .. if we didn't get on or weren't attracted to each other, we would say.
2 .. if we did get on, he could spend the night in one of my bedrooms
3 .. if we got on, he would come to my work to watch the play while l worked!
I had spent all morning from 6am, tidying my scabby hoose. I walk through the door, and dump everything on floors, tables, beds, and never, ever wash a dish. I hate washing up. I had a lot to do.
Getting ready, what to wear is easy as l have lots of lovely clothes bought when l was a shopaholic, spendaholic a few years back. Nae bother on the dress-code front.
I have never been on an online thingy before, and l felt so excited because we had spoken lots and seem to be on the same wavelength. I was a bit worried about the intellectual side of things, him being a high flyer in the oil business, n me with my bus pass and gas card.
Anyway. I waited in the main street till after 11am, then rang his phone. Perhaps he's lost his way? The street was heaving, busy, noisy but sunny.
'Hello Denise. I'm in Nicolson Street. And you?'.
'I'm here. Where are you?'.
'Just passing the Festival Theatre'.
Then l saw thee most gorgous, big, blue 4 wheel drive BMW with a cute man pull up at the traffic lights.
'Turn to the right', l said. 'I can seeee yooooou'.
Andy turned, and l waved at him. He smiled. Nice ..
I ran across the road, pulled open the huge, heavy door, and slid into the passenger seat. The traffic was stationary, and he looked at me and said 'Wow. You are gorgeous. Look at you. Your hair is amazing and you are so funky'.
Shu uuup. Am no
'Thanks, Andy. You must be shattered. Want to find a parking meter?'
We found a great spot, and l wondered how on earth would he maneuver the blue tank into a tiny space! But he did.
We went to the place where Jkrowling-in-it wrote her book. I know them in there, and l felt comfortable. I told the lovely waitress it was a first and blind date, she offered us a glass of champagne. Wasn't that incredibly sweet of her? We declined, ate some nice grub, and headed off. Chatting is easy to me, and definately same for him.
Andy was gawpin' an' googlin' at me. He kept saying how bla bla l was. I ain't used to such attentive behavior, so l was a bit blushy!
We wandered through the city, but it started to rain. Standing in a doorway, he said 'wait here', and ran off. What the ..
Two minutes later, he presented me with a posh Brooks Bros umbrella. 'to keep your pretty hair dry'.
Well folks. We DID get on. We went out on the Saturday evening for dinner then a club, he came into Jenners and l gave him a personal shop, (steady) He has sent me huge massive bouquet of roses, 2 cards, a gift bag full of things l mentioned l liked, such as candles, a wee China mug with 'busy bee' written on it, stuff for the bath, cos l love a bath, me. Jolly boy John, unreal.
I'm going up to Aberdeen where he works, on Tuesday. He and l are totally in sync. I think he is a superb guy. Too good to be true. But. I guess that's how he feels about me. After me being dumped the way l was a few months ago, heartbroken, and now this.
I will keep my fingers x'd.
If anyone thinks of going on line, go for it ..
