Infinite Sky - A Face in the Cloud - Entry Two
I look up and see birds
Scudding the sky,
Although not the first time
I ask again, why?
I see your face in every
Amorphous cloud,
Down here too you stood out
From the crowd.
By now I should be used to
Living alone,
Behaviour like yours I could
Never condone.
You were not faithful
To me,
But love made me too
Blind to see.
I miss the warmth of your body
Next to mine,
But when we love
We walk a fine line.
Your love once satiated
Moved on, but I felt
Violated.
I begged you to stay
Just one more day,
You said ‘Yes’
But went anyway.
I don’t understand,
Can you please
Tell me why?
Infinite loneliness
Is reflected in
An infinite sky!

Those few lines alone stand as an excellent entry.
Like a Haiku, so much said in a few words, lovely.

This is a sweet and moving poem, Moya. Lovely sentiments and very much enjoyed. Again, you have my belated best wishes for the competition with this entry.
