An Island Wedding!

An Island Wedding!
Carry her over the ocean
And set her down on the shore
Ask her again to marry you
Though she’s always said no before
But here it seems the time is right
For her to happily say yes
And this time there is no mistake
She comes wearing her wedding dress
The trees look down as you pass by
Then turn to watch you with glee
Animals wait for you to wed
As they crane their necks to see
Tall houses look on with affection
Clapping with windows and doors
The trees wish you much happiness
Before getting on with their chores
When making vows to each other
You must promise not to deceive
The tables and chairs said if not
Then you would be asked to leave
But once the wedding is over
And your love is now your wife
You know it is time to go back
And share with your love your life
Reluctantly you said goodbye
Not able to stay any more
You were wed over the ocean
Now you are back on your shore
The ocean travelled back with you
Although seeming almost to cry
Thinking it would be a kindness
You hung it outside to dry
When the ocean left the sea shore
It promised never to forget
And the sea shore looked sadly on
As if overcome with regret
Then the ocean began to wave
Still trying its best not to cry
The seashore also looked upset
As it sadly whispered good bye
But now that you are married
It will not be so long before
You, your wife and the ocean
Will meet again with that shore
