Be Leave

I'm tired as a bee
buzzing against glass
for cannot pass
into sleep. The deep
beyond thought. Unreached
though mind's wings batter
and long hours, tatter
I'm unfree. Why me?
Then, for no reason
the window's open
old arguments gone
out to sky
and

This captures well the inner
This captures well the inner battle of sleeplessness. The ticking mind and aching body and then the inexplicable release into sleep. The tired bee analogy is perfect.

Quite a picture of the trying
Quite a picture of the trying to break past the wall, and suddenly you stop trying, the wall isn't there … which you realise when you wake up refreshed and surprised, wondering how and when it happened! Rhiannon

Hello Di,
Hello Di,
I can relate to this poem in more ways than one, as I've had a cheast infection and been coughing day and night...no sleep hardly at all. The bee is a great analogy, it represents the dopy way I feel at present.
Well done.
Jenny.

I'm so sorry to hear about
I'm so sorry to hear about you all and your son Di. Tell your son he's not alone. I can really feel for him.
I also hope you all get better soon and are well for Christmas.
You take care.

Please don't be sorry Di.
Please don't be sorry Di.
I was just wondering if gargling with salt water might help, it helped me. I just put half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water and gargled twice a day, especially before bedtime.
Thinking of you at this time. Hope it helps.

I find mosquitoes worse
I find mosquitoes worse and they're more active at night i.e when you try to sleep. Sorry Di but I don't know any cure for insomnia especially in the long run the only thing I did learn is to have a strict routine and mild exercise before bedtime helps. Also I know it is not good for you not to sleep.

There are much less insects
There are much less insects here too Di than I remember from childhood. I definitely noticed crickets grasshoppers bees ants spiders there are very very few now and I'm in this same house. Maybe it's because we're not in the garden every day turning over stones climbing trees digging for earthworms and so on. No frogs anymore not mice garden lizards or brown house snakes it's very quiet.
Interesting because you're on the other side of the world. I don't think it's insecticides. There has been very much development here over the time, buildings office blocks malls roads houses houses etc etc the place has exploded. I have an uncle who is a guru on insects I think I should ask bim.
However there are many birds, sparrows, doves, pigeons hadida ibis and others like finches and even woodpeckers.
See you then! Tom Brown

We don't feed the birds Di I
We don't feed the birds Di I don't know about the neighbours. They mostly feed just off the lawn probably mostly grass seeds. The hadidas are really big bigger than a chicken bigger than a crow and they look viscous they're scary. Maybe they eat of other stuff as well maybe worms small fruit whatnot always digging around the compost heap.
But some people do feed the “wild” cats that's very stupid those cats become a big problem and they breed quickly.
Have a good sunday, goodnight!
