a blackbird decants descants, pouring incandescant
territory into surrounding stillness
as last week's treetips' tingling aces unfurl
full flushes of fresh life under May's lushing touch
so from new leaf to leaf to mossy trunk, light
rebounding, gathers green
then scent, cool and warm, bright
and dusky, sweet and sweet and sweet, opens
between yet skeletal flames
of beech trees, lithe in bud
a doorway into Heaven
where bluebells in ethereal tide
of luminous indigo, rise
from fallen leaves of ordinary days
seem floating, a pale lapiz haze, release
sudden joy and feel of peace
free
of plan or sacrifice
for this ephemera sublime
needs of us only that we
let it be,
Time paused, transluscent
to love from beyond memory

I liked this version with the awed awareness of the beginning of tree greening and the sudden rise of the indigo sea from the dead leaf carpet. Particularly liked a blackbird decants descants.

It wouldn't be May without bluebells so before it ends and they disappear, this lovely poem is Pick of the Day. Do share on Facebook and Twitter.
