Death In Headlights

He left the realm between concrete and tree
possessed with daring agility

and didn't expect to die on a path
exposed by daylight as people pass

a young fox laid on his side
a wild shine still in his eyes

a look of regret on his pretty face
(he failed to outwit this human place)

but look again and you will see
he is back in the realm between concrete and tree.
