Shiny People

Bigger we get as time rolls on
all things thought before
trying to find them again

Savage we have been, maybe, but hopefully not-trying to get there again

Our eyes were once big
vibrant with joy
sad now they are
getting smaller as times grow dark

Every taste was so new but has been had by now
time to seek out new spoons to lick off with fresh lips

We were the shiny people but we shine no more

It's time
It’s always time
time for a new
time for a chance
but where to go now?

We are the shiny people and we shine no more

So, with a duller shine we scrub harder
getting deeper to find that gleam

We have shined once
we can do it again
