Missing you

The lights of good fortune,

Shine brightly all around,

Festive cheer and spirit,

Surrounded by vibrant sound.

Children get excited,

Sometimes adults too.

But I just can’t help it,

All I can think of is you.

When the music starts to play,

It sparks a moment in my mind

When we were together,

And we thought we had so much time.

Instead I’m left wishing,

That we could just have one more day.

Where my heart skips a beat,

And we can say all those things we didn’t say.

I wish my dreams were true,

That you were here today,

Because my whole body aches;

My heart just missing you.
