The Age of Every Thing

This is the age
of
every
thing:
these are the times
of everything
and nothing;
of yes and no,
of stop and go,
of day and night,
of us and them,
of left and right,
of remain and leave,
of stained and clean,
of sloth and panic.
These are the days
of apocalypse
or inconvenience.
There are only extremes,
the centre did not hold,
fools climb upward.
The toxic tocsin
has rung for some,
others hear opportunity
knocking.
Both drown out
the still small voice
of reason.
