Last Mango in Morrison's

Down the road apiece,

they’re shooting one

of Sally Wainwright’s

salt-of-the-earth,

northern women-led dramas.

In the drizzle

a location crew looks on

as runners, extras,

best boys and gaffers

mill about in front

of St. Mary’s,

a smog-blackened,

mediæval sandstone pile.

I wonder

if they're shooting 

a wedding 

or a funeral?

The road through Elland

is not quite closed

by men in gilets jaunes,

whilst the camera crew

get their shots.

Nobody famous turns up,

but I don’t care

- I’ve got shopping to do

in Morrison’s.
