Someone born in 95

- no comma,

no missing centuries -

was going to enjoy

an abundance in life,

after time living abroad

and hardship.

 

I was born in ’61

- with comma,

nineteen centuries later -

these papyrus prophecies

mapped out my life too

but my time living abroad

was priceless.

 

Coptic, cryptic predictions:

meanings mislaid in translation.

I’ll write these lines down

in a long-forgotten language,

on the flyleaf

of Nostradamus’s riddles,

for posterity.

I love this; your poem tickled the imagination of what wonders you can explore while living abroad and what ancient finds, that have been unearthed, displayed for you to view...time worn papyrus and our attempts to translate archaic languages, that may or may not be correct, leaves a mystery to what those predictions actually do mean....I think it's interesting, an ancient astrology prediction can be applied through the ages to a modern individual... I enjoyed reading this very much; it woke up my imagination today better than my cup of coffee. so thank you for posting this.smiley
