was the music of the past:

the guitars were electric

and the solos played so fast.

BB had had his Lucille,

and white boys - Rickenbackers

while Brian had a teardrop

before he played maracas.

Bowie’s co-pilot-spider

– Ronson on the sleeve –

played the riffs for Ziggy

and made us all believe

it was the sound of spaceships

and rocket-fuelled cars:

it was a moonage daydream

played on space guitars.
