Freedom’s Lament

Justice was meant for all

But is stolen by the few

A poor person’s freedom hits a wall

In a world of greed inequality’s nothing new

A basic right of liberty stolen by the few

The weak and innocent’s lonely tears

Fades and dies like morning dew

Silenced screaming lonely fears

Many tears bitterly wept

Innocent voices desperately call

Imprisoned, fettered, kept

Broken utopian dreams meant for all
