I always trusted recall

Now things get confusing

I wish I’d written instead

Even when a page was sad

Like when she dumped me

Or when I lost my dad

Maybe if I’d kept a Diary

I’d be staring blankly now

Wondering just who wrote it

And what’s it all about?

It would be my listening friend
