Every evening,
when the day stops
and night begins,
and every morning
when night gives way to day,
there is a moment of absolute stillness.
The breeze stops,
the leaves stop moving
and the birds stop singing
as the pendulum pauses
for just a moment, before moving
in the opposite direction.
In that moment
everything falls still,
nothing stirs, time ceases to exist
and for that one split second
the vaults of eternity are
left open and unguarded.

Wow! This is sublimely musical, beautifully simple, I love your style. If I could give it cherry, I would! Have you considered removing the punctuation?
