CHAPTER TEN: BUTTERFLIES.

When I walked in my dad was on the sofa, drinking what looked like a big glass of tea. My mom was washing the floor, she always cleaned when she was worried, and Dane and Levi were upstairs playing with Barley. But it was weird it was like when everyone heard that door slam they froze in their tracks just staring at me.
"HoneyBear, I'm sorry I overreacted-" Even though I knew he meant it; I still didn't feel like all the steam that was once built up was fully gone.
"No shit-"
"Watch your language!" My mother fussed at me.
"It's alright Tanny, Honey, I really am sorry I don't know what came over me. I know it wasn't your fault and I know you tried to avoid him, but damn it Honey why didn't you just ignore him?"
"Yeah, easy for you to say and not do."
"I have been ignoring that Bastard for two weeks, and I am glad I have. He is not worthy of Vicky or anyone's time. He is a low life and I don't ever want you talking to him again." I looked at him. Something about me and not taking authority very well wanted to just run to the police station and start talking to Mr. Benson, about anything! However, I knew my dad would just lose it again and I didn't feel like driving anywhere else.
"Alright," I bit my lip as I started to walk up the stairs.
"Alright then." He turned in his chair and turned up the tv like nothing happened.
In my head I was calling my dad all these horrid names. Hoping he could read my mind.
"Honey, are you okay?" Levi grabbed my wrist and I pulled it back. I wasn't in the mood to be touched or grabbed at anymore.
"Sorry, I'm just making sure you're okay."
"It's not you, I just need to go to bed now. See you tomorrow." His eyes were fixed on mine. And when he kissed my wrist where the bruising was I felt relief, and butterflies. He grabbed me and hugged me and I didn't move. I just stayed in his arms until I was ready to let go.
"Umm, you two want a friggen room or what?" Dane was now closing the bathroom door to the second hallway and walking our way.
"Shut up, man." Levi said as he let me go at the same time.
"Just kidding, jeez little woman don't get so defensive. Oh and hey I wouldn't go in there, if you got my drift." My brother was making a wafting gesture with his hands.
"I'm sure I can smell it, you nasty boy!" The stench had carried over strangling my nose sensors.
"Alright, we gotta go Ticker." Levi hugged me once more and then followed my brother down stairs.
When they left I felt stimulated a little like I just got a boost of positive energy, but when I saw them pull out of the drive way it kind of all went away. So I decided to start drawing on a note pad.
It was one thirty in the morning and I was still wide awake. I could hear Barley and my dad snoring.
Bzzzzz.
My phone vibrated the whole bed. It was Levi, our conversation was short and sweet. It went something like this:
Levi:" Hey, are okay now?"
Me: "Yes, yes I am. Thanks."
Levi:" No, problem Honey Doo." (everyone in school called me that.)
Me: "It's late, are you okay?"
Levi: "I just don't like to see you so upset."
Me: "Thanks for checking up on me."
Levi: "Anytime Miss Lady, you're amazing and beautiful. Too beautiful to cry. Goodnight."
Me: Bye.=)"
I shut my phone and butterflies filled my stomach. It was like the worry and stress no longer existed. Only happy emotions were left. And I was okay with that, for now.
