It seems the more time we possess,
The less faith we are left with
In people, in god, in ourselves
Innocence is lost,
The same instant as ignorance
Who would not take back that moment,
When the realization struck,
That we are not pure creatures,
And never were
One just has to observe a small child,
To see the nature of man,
All unchecked impulses and cruelty
Sure we have the ability to learn,
Although the outcome,
Rests largely with the teacher
Goodness, morality, and nobility,
These are things in which to aspire,
But do not delude yourself,
With the notion,
They are attributes we are born with
Yet each of us has the capacity,
In which to become,
The greatest versions,
Of who we want to be
Unfortunately few achieve it,
Because the sacrifices involved
It will ever be easier to do nothing,
While claiming to be another victim,
Of the world’s many injustices
As for me, there is just longing,
To return to the days,
When the light was chased,
And I ran head first,
Into that blessed blindness

We need God's grace - power,
We need God's grace - power, help - to desire, and certainly to achieve any improvement and little victories over the things that we know need changing, and first knowing him and the joy and hope that brings - finding faith in him is largely 'seeing' things aright, when mind gets so confused by distortions of truth, and for that we can cry out in prayer, that we will see the evidence for our Maker and Redeemer and pray his mercy and grace and trust him. From what I can see, children
From what I can see, children are born civilised. It is the way we bring them up that uncivilises them. When we preach to our children that one religion is superior to another we sow the seeds of hate and fundementalism. If there is a God, and he made us all in his image, then I'm pretty sure he made us all equal...regardless of faith or creed or colour or sexual orientation or anything else.
