He watches a murder of Crows
As they gather on the Bell wire
Their hooded eyes blinking
And thinks of home
The scuffed front door
Where his fingerprints linger
And his father feels cheated
His empty bed
The face of his mother
As she waves him 'God speed'
A fluttering hankie
Symbol of peace
How he longs for her hands
To stroke his war worn brow
He hears the crack of fire
In the distance
