D After it's Over

After it's over
Oceans of emptiness
Skies cloudless blue
Sunny-side-up country
Not without you
Layers of loneliness
Once girl wanton played
You joined and made merry
Oh, if she'd stayed
Landscape of Spartan-ness
Unhappy the man
The girl she don't wait for you
Take what you can
Chasms of unused time
Nothing to fill
Locked in your own cocoon
Fearing the bill
Chain-smoking endlessly
Carriage awaits
You desperately want to leave
But pause at the gates
Visions of beauties face
Circle your head
You can't get her out of there
Or what she said
Consuming total-ness
Can't focus, can't breathe
How can one woman's whim
Your bios deceive
Unending fearfulness
Time standing still
She's no longer there for you
Where's your force of will?
Slowly re-opening
Re-emerging for life
She no longer consumes you
So it's back to the wife.
