Jennifer Jane was beginning to feel a bit frightened. Thank goodness she was with her parents! Mum had said “Wish Warehouse please”, in a slightly trembling voice as soon as the family were all inside her room, then everything became very windy and the next minute the family were standing in front of a long row of buildings with mist swirling round their feet.
A lady dressed in a fancy dress fairy costume had come out of the largest building to greet them. She seemed to know them all by name, although Jennifer Jane was sure she’d never seen her before. She came to the conclusion that it must be because she was with her parents.
“She’s lost all her memories of the fairy folk,” said Dave, “we need to get her to see Abigail urgently please.”
The lady looked very worried and dashed back inside. Bells began ringing and a moment later she came out holding a small box, which she gave to Dave.
“Don’t worry too much,” she said, “I’m sure Abigail will be able to cure her, feel free to open the box and go as soon as you like!”
Dave didn’t waste any time, but removed the lid as quickly as he could. Once again a great wind seemed to pick them all up and then put them down gently on the lawn in front of an old manor house.
Jennifer Jane had no idea what was going on in this place, but now that they’d all arrived; her parents seemed to have become much happier, although she still didn’t recognise the area.
A different lady dressed in a rather old-fashioned long dress, came out to meet them as they all started walking towards the house.
“We weren’t expecting to see all of you today, although somebody did mention that your daughter was a bit late for her lessons. Is everything all right?”
“I feel fine thank you,” said Jennifer Jane before anyone else could speak, “but I don’t know why the scenery keeps changing and everyone except us is wearing strange clothes?”
“Right,” said the lady, “I see the problem, I’ll go and fetch Abigail.”
A few moments later another lady ran out of the building and flapped her fingers about, just in front of Jennifer Jane’s face.
She blinked in surprise for a moment then looked round. Abigail, Rebecca and both her parents were looking at her with expectant expressions on their faces.
“I’m alright now; the box that Eve gave me must have had some sort of forgetfulness spell inside. I thought it was a book, or perhaps a box of chocolates that one of the mums from school had sent. Now I wonder where on earth would Eve have got a spell like that?”
“Only one way to find out said Abigail rather grimly, “we’ll all have to go and ask her what she’s been up to lately!”
