Tales of Odysseus

As i watched,
The cigarette hanging from your mouth,
I wondered what wasreally inside
This strong yet fragile frame.

On the outside you seemed almost evil,
Yet i felt that inside
You were as scared as a small child,
As loving as the best of men.
Yet, I didn't know you.
This was our second meeting
And already I felt a magnetic attraction towards you.
I believe you felt the same
But will never be sure.

So we ended up together
Much to the horror and surprise of others.
But you didn't take any notice
Of their reactions. Instead,
We became even closer.

And now we've been apart for so long
I thought that you had you doubts.
I'm hoping that's not the case,
As i have never loved anyone more.

I hope that when we meet again
We will be able to share ourselves
And our flame of love will burn once more.
