Christmas Curtains

New home to dwell
Rooms so bare
Empty with Echoes
Nothing to share
He could cope with the floor boards
He could live with no bin
But the one thing he couldn’t stand
No curtains within!!!
Paranoia peering out
Busy eyes looking in
It put him on edge
Glass so thin
Down Argos he marched
Purchased curtains amass
But how would he fix them?
No tools alas
He called uncle Albert
Who promised the earth
The next day was promised
That night was filled with mirth
The next day arrived
No sign of a drill
Fabric heaped on the floor
Wasteland of good will
Phone never answered
Full of despair
“All I want is me curtains,
for me… and me son and heir”
Months past
Leaves fell
Christmas day came
Naked glass still yelled
Then that snowy morning
A knock at the door?
It was uncle Albert
Ready to complete his chore
Drills were heard for miles
All night it went on
But by the morning
The peeping toms were gone
Now for all you curtain lovers
And lets not forget blinds too
Christmas is a magic time
Your dreams may just come true
