Lovers Parting

Laying in the dark the warmth of you beside me
Waking from our sleep our hearts are intertwined
Gold moonlight plummets as dawns display arrives
Shadows of the trees play gently on the ceiling
As I wish you stay and not leave me shaking here alone
Quietly you say you're love must be set free
This burden breaks my heart and so you quietly leave me
Defeated by your utterance I lay sobbing on the bed
But like lovers from the past whose perfect love has waned
Let us both part now and turn to the kiss of another
So our once perfect love may blind me no more

Hi Edward,
Hi Edward,
it's so hard when one person's love turns cold. That misapprehension that the victim thought was real, now just a memory that only time will heal.
Your poem reflects those feelings so well in this poingnant poem.
Jenny.

The sudden changefrom
The sudden changefrom apparent peace and love, in line 5 comes as quite a shock.
It does seem to indicate an expectation of both quickly finding a new relationship. Until one has insisted on that and really broken the established shared love, by joining with someone else, I would hope the other would be wanting, hopeing for healing.
