The cinquain is a five line verse form that has a syllable count of 2/4/6/8/2 with a downturn in feeling in line 3 or 4.

Why 'blue rose', Hilary? Is it the historicity you are unsure about, or that he can/will be willing to help you? Just reading in the Bible with thoughtfulness and prayerfulness can help, on either front. I hope it helps you. Rhiannon

I chose the blue rose because I thought it was an image of beauty. I think the whole religious thing is based on it being a beautiful story. As for my own position, Rhiannon, I have enjoyed reading the bible but can't help taking it all with a pinch of salt! I am inclined to think it is more of a fable than a real story!

I don't think the Bible really reads like a fable story, — it is written as history, and has more authentication than many characters we are confident are historical, I gather. It ties in with the witness of creation, too. We can't know anything really about God unless he discloses clearly to us, and as he came into the world to rescue, he has told us about it all so that we can have confidence and know him. many regards, Rhiannon
